Introduction
Strong passion to become a piano and music theory tutor.
I have graduated from my Master’s program at University of Leeds in Critical and Experimental Music Composition last Dec, and completed my undergraduate studies at Leeds Conservatoire in 2024 (major in Music Composition, minor in Piano Performance). Before going to Leeds, I completed my piano ATCL Recital and Grade 8 guitar exam. I have participated in annual recitals of my music school and the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival and won some awards.
About my teaching experience, I would like to highlight my positions that involve teaching music to children. I recently just finished my piano accompanist job with a grade 2 violin student where I played the piano to accompany her for her violin exam and taught her to play the pieces with accuracy and confidence. Additionally, I have taught music to a friend through an online Zoom session in 2020 to help him for his IGCSE music listening exam. Furthermore, I did two volunteer jobs in 2018 where I have not only taught piano and small musical instruments to children, but also supervised and took care of them during lessons.
My teaching style is quite creative and flexible, offering a range of strategies such as note-taking, mindmaps, flashcards, drawing and coloring exercises, educational games, videos and worksheets, while ensuring that students have the opportunity to explore their favorite areas.
